Presents

In just three weeks, on Friday, February 11, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., join Friends of the Inyo on Zoom for Women of Winter: Skiing the Sierra Backcountry 1930 - 1990, a fun, educational fundraising virtual event where you will not only learn about the brave pioneering women of skiing in the Eastern Sierra backcountry, but also have an opportunity to support our work to ensure the lands (and snows) of the Eastern Sierra continue to be protected for the enjoyment of girls, boys, men and women for generations to come.

Friends of the Inyo current Board Member and past Board President Sydney Quinn will take you on a virtual journey through time and tell you a little of her own story as well: how she began cross-country skiing on skis she found in the local dump after moving to Mammoth Lakes in 1970; how mentors Andrea Lawrence and Genny Smith influenced her to the point where she became a long-time advocate for the preservation of Wilderness.

Executive Director Wendy Schneider will also share about her backcountry experiences and update you on FOI's plans for 2022 and let you know how you can help further our mission:

To Protect and Care for the Public Lands of the Eastern Sierra.

Join us! Zoom "doors" will open early at 6 p.m. for fun networking prior to Sydney's presentation.

Suggested donation to attend is $25+, but if that represents a hardship, you can donate a lesser amount or even attend for free.

Thank you in advance for your support!

"We've come a long way, Baby!"
