What's Happening?

On May 18, the Inyo National Forest announced the beginning of a 30-day public comment period on a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Coyote Flat Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Recreation Enhancement Project. The public comment period closes on June 17.

INF will host a public meeting this Thursday, May 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cerro Coso Community College’s Bishop Campus, as well as online via Zoom for those who cannot attend physically.

INF, along with its contractor at WSP Engineering, will present information on the proposed action, potential impacts to resources, the planning process, and how to comment on the Draft EA, as only written comments will be considered. The meeting will consist of a presentation followed by a Q&A session, and an open house.

What Can I Do?

1) Attend the meeting in person. Address details are in the e-flier above.

2) Attend the meeting online. Note: You must register to attend via Zoom.
Use this link to register. You can also click on the e-flier above, or use the QR code provided. When it is time to join the meeting, be sure to have the Meeting ID and Passcode on the flier handy.

3) Wait for further guidance from Friends on the Inyo on points to highlight in your written comments. FOI will provide substantive points for engagement well in advance of the June 17 deadline.

4) Ask questions. In the meantime, if you would like to ask questions about this project, please contact Lisa.Cox@usda.gov or Dannon.Dirgo@usda.gov.

THANK YOU!
